To celebrate the launch of my Christmas zine I’ll be hitting the road to spread some bah humbug vibes across England! The theme of this zine is ‘Worst Christmas Ever’, and so I want every gig to be a tongue-in-cheek celebration of the naffness of the festive season.
What is a house concert?
A house concert is an intimate musical performance that takes place in someone’s home or flat. You invite your friends, put out a few nibbly bits, and I perform for you (as well as encourage a Christmas sing-along!)
How does it work?
• You provide a common space to fit your guests (usually the living room)
• You provide some basic snacks and drinks, or ask your guests to bring a dish to share
• Invite your friends and family
• We all get together and sing songs!
Do I need to pay any up-front costs?
Absolutely not. Some hosts ask their guests to pay a donation on the night (to cover travel costs etc), but I’m happy to discuss this based on your circumstances.
How big of a space do I need to host a house concert?
Almost any space works. I’ve performed in teeny little rooms with people huddled together on bean bags, and big rooms where everyone is spread out on couches and chairs. What’s most important is that everyone is there to have a good time and enjoy some music!
Can I make special song requests?
Of course. Just give me plenty of warning so I can re-learn (or learn) the particular song.
As we’re celebrating all that is naff about Christmas I’d love to include fun elements that guests can get involved in, such as a Christmas Jumper competition and a rubbish present swap.
If you have any questions please ask!
So, if you want to do something a little different for your Christmas celebration I’d love to come and play for you and your friends!
